It was four years ago that 34,529 people in England all blew bubbles at the same time.
That's a world record, but it won't be much longer.
Isabelle Mosca is determined to break it. She made her second attempt this month in Atlantic City. She fell short of the record, but there's always next year.
The Margate, N.J., resident created an annual event called Blow Bubbles 4 Autism eight years ago to help raise awareness about the developmental disability. Her son Kyle is autistic.
For two years now, Mosca has used the event to try set a new world record. Not everyone has to be in the same place -- the record is the most people simultaneously blowing bubbles in multiple locations.
This year, Mosca had people blowing bubbles in 114 locations, including Australia and the Dominican Republic.
"Last night I said I was cautiously optimistic that we would break the record. I'm going to stay with that," she tells the Press of Atlantic City. "It's just so heartwarming to know that people care."
The Press reports a number of schools participated in the bubble-blowing event while hosting other activities throughout the day to promote autism awareness.
